Local communities: Local communities (Bantus) and indigenous people (Bakas) live in and around the Basse-Lobaye Biosphere Reserve. There are an estimated 16,000 indigenous people in the Lobaye prefecture alone (estimates made in 2004 by the COOPI; RFUK 2009: 5).

Administration: The park is administered by the Ministry of Water, Forests, Hunting and Fishing (UNESCO 2000). Conservation activities are managed by technical advisors from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The conservation objectives are not specified.

Biodiversity information: The Reserve is a mostly tropical humid forest (UNESCO 2011). There is no available information on biodiversity in the Reserve.
